WHAT IS RPET?

rPET is the acronym used for recycled polyethylenetetraphyte (PET).
PET is the world’s fourth most common plastic resin and is used in everything from food packaging to clothing.

When you see the word “rPET” it simply means that the PET in the product you’re looking at, should come from a recycled PET source.
In short, RPET takes plastic that has already been created – usually plastic bottles, and chops these bottles into tiny flakes.
These flakes are then melted to separate the core PET ingredient inside of the bottle.
This PET can then be used to make any thing from our rPET fabric to another plastic bottle.

Research shows that the energy used to create rPET fabric is about 85% less when compared to virgin polyester.
This results in a round 65% fewer emissions and 90% less water required to manufacture.
